Introductions:

Hello everyone! My name is Lauren Hopkins and I am a secondary English pre-service teacher. I’m currently wrapping up my final semester of my Literacy master’s degree at SUNY Potsdam. During the days I am a substitute teacher at both the Potsdam middle school and high school. On the evenings I do not have class, I spend my time directing the college’s musical theatre production for the semester. Once I finish up my degree this December, I will be returning to the Capital Region to pursue jobs at the middle school level, hopefully in an English classroom! I hope that this blog will provide you with some valuable insight into some literacy based teaching ideas.

Hola! My name is Shantelle Williams and I am a Secondary Spanish Teacher at Carthage Senior High School. I am currently beginning my 6th year teaching Spanish 1 and 2 while finishing my degree to become a Literacy Specialist. I hope this collaboration will be beneficial to not only you as the classroom teacher but will enhance the instructional tools and technology in my classroom as well.


My name is Rob Leabo. I am currently a K-12 substitute teacher in the Malone Central School District. I have a BA in Spanish and MS in Childhood Education from SUNY Potsdam. I am currently enrolled in the MSEd Literacy Specialist program which I plan

to finish May 2018. My career goals are to be a K-6 Reading Specialist and Spanish 7-12 teacher at various points in my career. I'm really excited to be doing this collaboration project with Trinity Catholic teachers and can't wait to see what magic happens!
